Over the past 3 months, the Centerville Branch participated in its first Prime Time Family Reading Program. Financed by a grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the six-week program of reading, discussion, and storytelling emphasized the importance of parents reading with their children. Each week the families, along with a Storyteller, Mrs. Connie Durocher and Scholar, Ms. Martha Hodnett, shared dinner, read and discussed award-winning books on themes such as fairness, greed, courage, cleverness and determination. We would like to thank all of our Prime Time families for a successful and amazing program.
